Children and Youth Sunday School
Making connections between faith and life, our program offers classes for preschool (two and up), kindergarten, primary, middler, junior high, and senior high aged kids. We collaborate in teaching and learning with Hyattsville Mennonite Church, neighbors who join us in our building for the Sunday school hour.
Our Sunday School program begins at 9:30 am and ends at 10:30am
Children In Worship
Each Sunday, during the morning worship service which begins at 10:50am, younger children are invited to come forward for a story, puppet show,or other special focus that draws them into the time of worship.
Junior and senior high youth gather occasionally for activities, movies, discussion, meals, retreats, or special trips (like the one to the Church of the Brethren National Youth Conference in Colorado every four years).
Organ, piano, solo instrumentalists, recorded music, and an occasional choir add rich variety to worship. We welcome musicians who may add new styles and gifts to our shared worship.
Adult Education classes are held each Sunday (also jointly with Hyattsville Mennonite Church.) Most ntegrate presentations, discussion, biblical insights, and contemporary issues. This year’s series’ have included storytelling from Anapbaptist traditions, addressing challenging biblical texts, and faith and immigration issues.
From time to time, small groups form around a particular interest, and meet for a time. In recent years, groups have come together to explore efforts at building simplicity and sustainability into our lifestyles, to join in witness for peace, to share in spiritual support and prayer, and to meet for a mid-week lunch.
